I live in the tranquil heart of Colusa County, an agricultural community where the rolling orchards, and planted fields, stretch to the horizon and the rhythms of life are intimately connected to the land.

Here, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the enduring influence of Hispanic heritage on our vibrant community. The dedication of local farmers, workers, and community members who proudly trace their roots back to Hispanic ancestors is a testament to the values of hard work, resilience, and a deep reverence for the earth.

It’s in the hands that tend to the soil, nurturing crops that feed not only our county but also the nation, that I see the living legacy of a heritage deeply intertwined with the very essence of this land.

The aroma of fresh tortillas and tamales wafting through local markets, the lively celebrations of Cinco de Mayo, and the artistry of local artisans all contribute to the rich tapestry of life here.
